• Holiday Mashup

For this assignment (4.5 stars), I decided to pick my favorite holidays and make them one. I chose the background to be fireworks to represent the Fourth of July. I really like getting to see the fireworks, and my family usually gets together with friends which is always a lot of fun. I then put a Christmas tree and Santa Claus for Christmas. I love getting to see my family and have time off for Christmas. I decided to have Santa give a bunny a “peep” as a present for Easter. Easter is another one of my favorite holidays because I feel it is always the start of Spring. Peeps are…

  • Week 11 Summary

This week was a lot better than last week! I feel like I am getting better at making videos and enjoyed working on the assignments. For my first assignment, I decided to incorporate my character, Kate, in the assignment by showing the life of one of the animals she rescued. I used my cat and took pictures of him throughout the day and then compiled it into a video with captions and music. I thought it would be good to show one of Kate’s animals because that is her hob and it also continues the story of one of her rescues. For my next assignment, I created a documentary telling…

  • Daily Creates for the Week

This week’s daily creates were a lot of fun to think about! My first daily create was for daylight savings time. I decided to find a GIF to represents setting your clock back and really liked this one from The Office. Next, I found this picture of this odd combination of signs and decided it was the perfect choice. Those are two signs that should never be together and was amazed that they were together. My last daily create allowed me to reminisce about memories from a long time ago. Since the holidays are approaching, I thought of the times when I was a kid and how excited I was…

  • The Best Transitions

For this assignment (4 stars), I found my favorite transitions on iMovie. I haven’t really experimented with the transitions, so when I found this assignment I thought it would be good practice. I have always used transition,s but I kind of just started finding them on iMovie. I decided to use pictures from my trip to England two years ago. I thought they would be good to use and it was also nice to get to make a video of my trip which I haven’t done yet. I looked through all of my photos and then added them to iMovie. I then looked through and played around with the transitions.…

  • The Story of Kate

For this assignment (5 stars), I decided to create a documentary based on my character, Kate. I started by thinking abut what I wanted to say. I wrote up a story and then found the pictures to go along with it. I started by recording the intro and then the story. I added the pictures and decided how long they should be on the screen for. I then added the final and the image urls. I really liked getting to develop and tell the story of my character. It had been awhile since I thought about her beginning, so it was nice to revisit it. I found pictures that really…

  • A Day in the Life

For this assignment (3 stars), I decided to show a day in the life of one of my character’s animals. My character, Kate, saves animals for a living and this is one of the animals she saved. He now lives with Kate. I thought this would be a different way to tie my character in and show the perspective of the animals she saves. As you can see in the video, he is extremely lazy! I started the assignment by thinking of things I could get pictures of. I used my cat in the video and just took pictures of things he was doing. The only thing I could not…

  • Week 10 Summary

This has been another crazy week! I feel like all of my classes always have so much due every week! When I saw this was video week, I was super nervous and unsure about how it would go. I was surprised at the ease of video. It took me awhile to find assignments this week because of the number of options, and I also didn’t want ones that were over my skill level. My favorite thing was doing the movie analysis because I got apply things I learned to something real. My favorite assignment was the one where I made a video of where I would want to go. I…

  • Avengers Analysis

For my film analysis, I decided to use the movie Avengers 2. I have always liked the Marvel movies and figured they have so many characters and action scenes that it would be a good movie to look for the features. After I watched the videos on features in film, I searched for clips on youtube. I found two clips that I noticed had the features Ebert and Zhou discussed. I found the 4K Video Downloader information and dowloaded the youtube videos using it. I then added the clips to iMovie and removed the audio. I then directly recorded my voice over the scenes and added in my intro. I…

  • Puppies!

I saw this assignment (2 stars) and knew I had to do it! I do not have a dog but have always wanted one. I started by googling pictures of cute dogs and picked my favorites which was so hard. I chose my favorites and then added them to iMovie. I wanted to find a background noise, so I looked on freesound.org and found the acoustic guitar music. I thought it would make a nice background sound and being calming while looking at the puppies. I really like how it turned out and think that it can make anyone happy!   Until next time, Emily

  • Relax

For this assignment (3.5 stars), I created a video of ocean waves. I started by finding the ocean waves on freesound.org. I also found a person saying relax that I thought would tie into the assignment. I used audacity to add the two audios and then exported them and added them to iMovie. I found two sunset pictures of the ocean and decided to alternate the two with the audio. I downloaded the movie and uploaded it to youtube. I really enjoyed this project. Sometimes when I am stressed I will listen to relaxing music and now I can use my own. Until next time, Emily
