• GIF Story

For this assignment (3 stars), I decided to create a GIF story based on a fairytale. I found the GIFs using GIPHY and placed them into my post. I thought about the story and then searched for the various ideas.             I chose the fairytale Goldilocks and the three bears. It was harder than I thought to find GIFs representing each of the stories events. I think the GIFs I found represent the story well but don’t give it away too easily. This was a great way to show online storytelling. Until next time, Emily

  • Dream Vacation

For this assignment (3.5 stars), I got to plan my dream vacation on Pinterest. I immediately knew that I would love to go on a vacation all over Europe. I would love to spend over a month or so being able to travel to various cities. A few of the cities I would like to see would be Venice, Rome, Florence, Dublin, Madrid, Barcelona, and so much more. I would like to also go to London and Paris again. I think this would be an amazing trip full of lots of amazing experiences. My board has a variety of the places and sites I would want to see. It also…

  • Pinterest Room

I thought this assignment (4.5) was a lot of fun and made me want to redo my room! I started by creating a Pinterest account for the class. I then created a board specifically for my room ideas. I searched for ideas involving comfy and elegant rooms. I also searched for various designs of wallpaper. I think accent walls of either a different color or wallpaper are super pretty. I found several pictures with really pretty chandeliers and thought they added sophistication and were something unique. I really liked the neutral color scheme with pops of pinks and blues. For fun, I added some extravegant rooms right on the beach and ones…

  • Listening to the Radio Show

I listened to the Super Storytellers radio show. I really enjoyed listening to everyone’s ideas! The commercials were my favorite part! They were super creative and unique and all tied in well to the stories. Everyone had great tone and sounded super professional. I also liked that the voices were made different from each other. They were different enough from each other without sounding too odd. I think some of the audio varied in noise level between each segment, but I know how hard that is make all the same level. Overall, I really enjoyed listening to the creative ideas and think they did a great job! Here are some…

  • Week 8 Summary

This week went really well after I finished my story. I communicated through slack with my group and we uploaded all of our information to that. Maddie then put it all together. The hardest thing this week was putting my show together and using Audacity. Editing my show was difficult and took a long time. I think the radio show turned out great and it was a fun thing to do!   Radio Show Progress Week 2: Radio Show Progress Week 2 Here is the completed show:   Here are my daily creates: Daily Creates Week 8 Commenting was hard this week, but here are a few comments I made.

  • Radio Show Progress Week 2

This week was kind of odd because we didn’t have a lot of assignments to do. My group was great and communicated through slack. We all added our commercials, bumpers, and stories to the feed. If any of us had any questions we were able to answer them through the slack, so it was super easy. I wrote my story and then recorded it and added in all of the sound effects. Audacity was being a pain, so it took me awhile to finish it. I then uploaded it to soundcloud and added it to slack. Maddie was super awesome and combined everyone’s work to create the show.   Here…

  • Daily Creates Week 8

Maybe to imitate insects… #ds106 #tdc2470 pic.twitter.com/gbXr7T3J1Y — eahumw (@EmilyHutchins8) October 17, 2018 For this daily create, the first thing I though of when I saw the picture was an insect. I felt like they had antenna coming out of their heads. I looked for pictures of insects with large antenna and found this one. For my next daily create, I liked the idea of using Scooby Doo because they solved crimes and would find out who did it! They will definitely find out who! • Week 7 Summary

I felt like this week was much smoother than the last two weeks! I really liked forming groups and being able to plan our show. We set up a slack feed and have been communicating on that. We have all been creating our ads and posters, and I think that everyone has done a great job! I created a poster on Adobe Spark for our show and think it ties into the theme very well. For my assignments, I created a radio bumper (4 stars) where I used some mythical background music. For my radio ad (3.5 stars), I created one advertisement for a pet healing amulet. I thought of…

So true! #ds106 #tdc2461 pic.twitter.com/xEKs84BAVC — eahumw (@EmilyHutchins8) October 7, 2018 Why not… #ds106 #tdc2464 pic.twitter.com/nx19BSUfS8 — eahumw (@EmilyHutchins8) October 10, 2018 I think the worst job ever would definitely be this! So disgusting…#tdc2465 #ds106 pic.twitter.com/DGXsLccMgX — eahumw (@EmilyHutchins8) October 12, 2018 This week’s daily creates were very creative and interesting to think about! My favorite was the worst job one. I googled several options and found the sewer swimming job and decided that would definitely be the worst. I think the daily creates really help me work on my creativity and are something fun to do. For the others, I thought about it and looked for photos and ideas.…

  • Radio Show Progress

For our radio show, my group decided to tell the stories of our characters. I really like this idea and think it will be really interesting to hear all of our stories come to life on the radio. We started a slack group and have been communicating through that. Maddie came up with the awesome name of Myths, Legends, and Character Conversations. I really think the name represents our show’s theme. We then decided on how we would tell our stories and how long each will be (3-5 minutes apiece). For my star assignments, I created a radio ad discussing an amulet that could magically heal animals. I also created…
